These initiatives have been inspired by seeing a need in our community and then collaborating to design a way to achieve it! CEF is proud to bring this unique set of offerings to our CUSD students and families.

Career Exploration

In 2021, CEF partnered with Half Moon Bay High School Career Technical Education and Real Life Learning to launch a Career Exploration Program for all Half Moon Bay High School students. Our goal is to introduce all of our students to a wide range of potential careers and professionals to prepare for their future after high school.

We started with a Virtual Career Panel video in 2021 and now have expanded for the last two years to offer monthly in-person Career Panels with speakers who share their career journeys culminating with a Job fair at the end of the school year.

We are also building a Career Connections Database of community members who want to share their journey with students and make an impact in their future.

Community Hub

In late 2020 a few of the Coastside youth serving organizations began dreaming of ways to support the families and students who were most severely impacted by COVID. The idea of a Community Hub began to take shape. The founding committee imagined a trusted center where students and families in the district come for educational and wrap-around services with a focus on the whole child. The center would be built on a partnership between strong community-based organizations who are already doing the work individually, but who envision doing so much more under one roof in the spirit of collective impact.

Building something meaningful takes time, and through persistence and hard work the Community Hub launched in 2023 and is running a Pilot Schedule of offerings Fall 2023.

The purpose of the Community Hub is to leverage existing community resources and bring programs to the Coastside Community to improve resilience, connectedness and engagement so that we can close the equity gap and enable self sufficiency.
