From CEF Executive Director Keith Cernak

IMAGINE THE DIFFERENCE YOU CAN MAKE

DID YOU KNOW THAT?

LITERACY: From Kindergarten to 3rd grade children learn to read…then they read to learn…55% of our third graders are not proficient in reading by the end of 3rd grade.  Our goal is to change this through our reading proficiency initiatives so all of our students advance through higher learning and can be successful in college and throughout their lives.

SCIENCE: Only 54% of our students are proficient in science by 10th grade.  CEF initiatives seek to dramatically increase science proficiency and career opportunities for all students in one of the most science enriched areas of the world which is just “over the hill."

The needs of the workforce are evolving.  Students must learn the essential skills for success in today's world: critical thinking, problem solving, communication, and collaboration. CEF is supporting these skills so that our students will be ready for their vocations, college and careers.

COMPUTER SCIENCE: CEF is funding the launch of CUSD’s first computer science track beginning in elementary school proceeding through high school.

I want to be a part of this and make a tax deductible donation.

COLLEGE AND CAREER READINESS:

CEF is funding AVID, an evidence-based program to develop the academic skills needed to succeed in challenging and rigorous courses and provide students with the tools, knowledge and skills to succeed in high school and beyond.

All this leads to “Big Impacts” to make our students successful from K-12, to be College and Career Ready and to have skills for a 21st Century global economy…and the best possible school system to provide this.

TO DO THIS WE NEED YOUR DONATION.

Please make your tax-deductible gift to CEF now!

CEF thanks you…our students thank you.

Have a wonderful Holiday Season!!!!!
